“I, Jasmin Howa have been living with primary Lymphydema since birth. Lymphydema is the swelling of a body part, most commonly a limb, caused by the abonmal accumulation of lymph fluid. It can also occur in other parts of the body. It is a chronic, progressive condition. Lymphydema is either a primary or secondary condition. Secondary Lymphydema is caused by injury, scarring or excision of lymph nodes.This is usually caused as a result of radiation and/or surgery to the lymph nodes which is used in the treatment of various cancers.

However, not all patients receiving this treatment develop Lymphydema. In my case, the Lymphydema got out of hand. For many years my left leg, including the top of my foot,was more enlarged that the right leg. Five years ago I discoverd that the rest of my body also had Lymphydema.Although I’ve had surgery on my leg, I lived in excruciation pain most of the time.

I was prone to numerous bouts of infections, septicaemia and traumatic episodes that disrupted several areas of lymph nodes. Over the years I have tried and tested several remedies, nothing had the desired effect and antibiotics were causing more damage than good. Today I am eternally grateful that I have been introduced to the EMT Home Treatment System. By the time I started treating myself my left leg had swollen to three times the size of my right leg, my face was totally distorted from swelling and my right eyesight nearly gone.

The pain was unbearable. After the first week of treatment the pain had receded 98% and the swelling went steadily down. After three weeks of treatment my right leg had come down 3 sizes (nearly pain free) and I can make out colours with my right eye. By using the EMT System regularly I reduced my antibiotic dosage drastically and I can finally wear my shoes again. My personality has also gone back to the old me and I have even been able to take up teaching again.”
